Following the compelling stage play "Moments of Truth", which was presented in observance of National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day 2012, and the XIX International AIDS Conference, Brave Soul Collective (BSC) in conjunction with The DC Center returns with "FACING IT - Encounters of an Epidemic".
On Thursday November 29th, BSC will present an evening of theatrical performances in honor of World AIDS Day 2012, which will focus on HIV/AIDS and the many ways that the epidemic continues to affect the lives of individuals, communities, and the world at large. The evening of theatre arts performances is presented to help educate members of the LGBTQ community about the importance of HIV prevention and treatment as well as to celebrate the lives of individuals living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Through a series of interconnected theatrical performances which address various topics such as religion & spirituality, stigma, disclosure, sex, dating, relationships, and much more, "FACING IT" promises to entertain & inspire audience members, and to stress how far we've come in fighting this epidemic.
"FACING IT" features all new, original works written by playwrights - Alan Sharpe, Jared Shamberger, Barbara Asare-Bediako, Thembi Duncan, & Monte J. Wolfe
